French visitor visa income calculator (2026)

Compare your monthly means, in euros, with the benchmark written into French residence law for the "visiteur" permit (CESEDA art. L426-20: resources at least equal to the annual net minimum wage), which consulates use as their reference: €1,477.93 per month per adult since June 1, 2026 (€17,735.19 a year, service-public.fr fiche F302).

2026 benchmark: €1,477.93 per adult per month (net SMIC, June 1, 2026). Prudent level (1.5×): €2,217. Comfortable (2×): €2,956.

"Net" follows the French benchmark: after payroll contributions, before income tax. In your file, show gross and take-home side by side.

Default: ECB reference rate of October 16, 2026 (1 USD ≈ 0.89 EUR). Check today's rate at ecb.europa.eu before you file.
